Brickyard Fishery Rules & Regulations

Gandelf’s Carp Lake (Members Only)

  1. This is a members only lake, membership card must be carried at all times and shown on request.
  2. Night fishing must be booked at least 48 hours in advance, by calling 07570 137 809 Paul or 07808469823 Suzanne.
  3. Always close and secure access gate to fishery, keep otters out.
  4. No litter to be left, this includes line, cigarette ends. Anyone with litter in or around their peg will be asked to leave. (Please take litter home.)
  5. Maximum of two fishing rods per angler, both rods in same swim.
  6. No keep sacks. fish must be returned to lake immediately after weighing and photo.
  7. Barbless/microbarb hooks only.
  8. A minimum of 15lbs line to be used. (No braided line)
  9. No nuts for hook or feed.
  10. Bite alarms on low settings. They can be annoying especially if no fish involved!
  11. Anglers must be in possession of an assembled landing net at least 36″ and a unhooking mat/cradle.
  12. Alcohol allowed in moderation.
  13. No firearms or aggressive use of catapults.
  14. No fires, portable barbecues only if used off the ground i.e. no scorching on ground.
  15. Bait boats are permitted.
  16. Well behaved dogs with permission only.
  17. Wading is not permitted.
  18. No leaving or entering the fishery between 10 pm and 7am. No deliveries after 9pm (i.e. food delivery). Strictly no night visitors.
  19. No more than two visitors for no more than two hours between 10am and 6pm.
  20. No drones to be used on the fishery.
  21. Music with earphones only. (Other anglers may not be in the mood for dancing.)
  22. Be considerate and respect other anglers of all types.
  23. Anglers must remain close to the lake and not interfere with any form of wildlife or trample down vegetation.
  24. Fish must not be removed from the fishery, anyone caught doing so WILL BE PROSECUTED and banned for life.
  25. Keep head light use to a minimum this can also be annoying, red light to be used if possible.
  26. Rods must not be left unattended or minded by angler in another swim at any time.
  27. Only designated named or numbered swims to be fished. No swim building or clearing permitted without permission.
  28. Toilet facilities are available for use on site and must be used.
  29. Carp care kits should be used.
  30. Any fish found stressed or dead should be brought to the attention of owner.
  31. Anglers may not reserve swims for themselves or others by leaving items of tackle.
  32. Language to be kept cool at all times! No yelling at your mate over the pond.
  33. Please ensure your nets, mats and weigh slings are dry before entering the fishery. When dip tank is available use it.
  34. Anyone breaking the rules will be liable for expulsion at the owner’s discretion with no return of membership cost.
  35. Can all members please report any suspicious behaviour to Paul or Suzanne, in confidence.

Dobbits Pond & Mirkwood Pond

(Pay before you fish)

 

  1. Tickets must be paid for before fishing use honesty box system in toilets, keep your tab as proof of payment. Bring change with you. No change is no excuse. Tickets are also available online.
  2. Your ticket is only valid for the named person on the day stated and must be carried by them while at the fishery and shown on request.
  3. Always close and secure access gate to fishery, keep otters out.
  4. Only fish from the marked pegs.
  5. Maximum of one rod per angler.
  6. Keepnets may be used (ONLY ON MERKWOOD POND.)
  7. Alcohol allowed in moderation.
  8. Barbless hooks only.
  9. No litter to be left this includes line, cigarette ends. Anyone with litter around their peg will be asked to leave. PLEASE TAKE LITTER HOME.
  10. No fires but barbecues may be used off the ground to avoid scorching.
  11. No firearms, crossbows or aggressive use of catapults.
  12. Well behaved dogs with permission only.
  13. Radios and music on earphones only. Other anglers may not be in the mood for dancing!
  14. Be considerate and respectful to other anglers at all times.
  15. Anglers must remain close to the ponds and not interfere with any form of wildlife or trample down vegetation.
  16. Wading is not permitted.
  17. Ground bait by feeder, cup, or loose feed.
  18. Fish must not be killed or removed from the fishery. Anyone caught doing so will be PROSECUTED AND BANNED FROM THE FISHERY FOR LIFE WITHOUT ANY REFUND.
  19. Always dip keepnets landing nets when tanks available.
  20. Opening times 7.00 am to 9.00pm/sunset whatever the sooner.
  21. Anglers found breaking the rules will be liable for expulsion at the owner’s discretion with no return of membership cost.
